J. Appleseed makes it easy for as many people as possible to grow their own organic food. By providing simple to use materials and step by step guidance, safe and nutritious homegrown produce is made available to thousands of new gardeners. Individualized on-line instructions eliminate the learning curve and allow both beginners and old pros to grow organically with minimum time and effort.

Personal & Planetary Health

Our raised bed systems can transform thousands of unproductive acres into food gardens; one deck, one back lawn, one school yard at a time. Money is saved in grocery bills, water is saved from lawns, the air is saved with less shipping emissions, and the environment is saved from pesticides. While individuals improve their personal health, together we impact the health of the planet.

Education & Community

Personal health begins with education. Our school outreach programs offer discounted raised bed installations and provide a curriculum for multi-subject instruction through gardening. Children not only learn about the science of growing plants, they apply math and writing skills, schedule goals in a calendar, work together in teams, and best of all, discover how fresh vegetables can taste so good. We help personal and community health grow together.
